日本の航空自衛官、著述家。大村平は1944年に名古屋陸軍幼年学校に入学し、終戦後に旧制東京高校を経て東京工業大学に進学。卒業後製糸会社に勤めていたが、1956年に公募幹部として航空自衛隊に入隊。その後、整備幹部の教育を受け、T-1練習機の開発に関わり、その傍ら試験飛行にも携わった。
空自復帰後は技術研究本部に配属され、技術幹部として装備の研究開発に関わり、ジェットエンジンの設計やブルーインパルスのカラースモークの研究にも携わる。その後も技術畑で勤務し、航空幕僚監部、航空実験団でT-2練習機及びF-1戦闘機の開発にも携わった。
1984年には技術幹部として初の航空方面隊司令官となり、その後航空幕僚副長を経て1986年から1987年まで空幕長を務めた。退官後は防衛庁技術研究本部技術顧問、にお茶の水女子大学非常勤講師、日本電気顧問、社団法人日本航空宇宙工業会顧問などを務める。
著書として「行列とベクトルのはなし」、「実験計画と分散分析のはなし―効率よい計画とデータ解析のコツ」、「ORのはなし―経営意思決定のテクニック」などの啓蒙書を多数著した。

Japanese Air Self-Defense Force officer and author. Taira Omura entered the Nagoya Military School in 1944, and after the end of the war, he went to the old Tokyo High School and then to the Tokyo Institute of Technology. After graduating, he worked at a silk-reeling company, but in 1956 he joined the Air Self-Defense Force as a publicly recruited officer. Afterwards, he received training as a maintenance executive and was involved in the development of the T-1 trainer aircraft, while also participating in test flights.
After returning to the ASDF, he was assigned to the Technology Research Headquarters and was involved in research and development of equipment as a technical executive, and was also involved in jet engine design and research on Blue Impulse's color smoke.
