独立行政法人住宅金融支援機構（JHF）は、2007年に発足した政策金融機関で、住宅ローンなどの業務を行っています。所管は国土交通省と財務省です。
8つの支店がありますが、業務内容は以下の3つに分かれております。
1. 証券化支援業務
民間金融機関を安心して長期固定金利の住宅ローンを提供できるようにするために、住宅ローン債権を証券化し投資家に投資してもらう。フラット35などが代表例です。
2. 融資保険業務
民間金融機関が融資した住宅ローンが不良になるとき、そのリスクを管理するために融資保険を提供します。これは、リバースモーゲージの一種であるリバース60も利用できます。
