2007年から、NHK木曜時代劇『陽炎の辻〜居眠り磐音 江戸双紙〜』で時代劇への取り込みが始まり、テレビ東京金曜時代劇枠とNHK土曜時代劇枠でも時代小説をドラマ化している。
