京都大学名誉教授。日本の高山植物やアルナチャル地方の自然について研究することで、「自然のしくみ」を深く理解し、日本の人間活動と環境問題の関係を考えることにも取り組んでいます。
水野一晴は、地理学者として知られますが、その研究分野は広範囲にわたります。高山植物やアルナチャル地方の自然についての研究だけでなく、気候変動や人間活動と環境問題の関係を考えることも多いです。また、京都大学で教鞭をとったこともあり、人気講師として知られていました。

**Wisdom to save the earth spread by physical geographers**
Professor emeritus at Kyoto University. By researching Japan's alpine plants and the nature of the Arunachal region, we are working to deepen our understanding of the "systems of nature" and consider the relationship between human activities and environmental issues in Japan.
Kazuharu Mizuno is known as a geographer, but his research fields span a wide range of areas.
