In 1981, he became an assistant professor at Waseda University's Faculty of Education, and in 1983 he became a professor at the same university. In 1984, he received a Doctor of Letters degree from Waseda University for his work on ``Research on Shofu Hai Theory, with a focus on support.'' Retired in 2003 as professor emeritus.
