Ren Kaburagi's career began when he was in the fourth grade of elementary school. Since then, he graduated from Rohto University's Faculty of Letters, Department of Japanese Literature, and wrote his graduation thesis, ``Edogawa Ranpo Theory.'' After graduating from university, he worked as a cram school instructor and a teaching material publisher before becoming independent as a freelance copywriter in 1992. During that time, he has been active as a writer for nearly 20 years.
