Akemi Saito, a native of Kochi Prefecture, is active as an essayist and editor. With diverse experience as a high school teacher and TV writer, he served as a reporter for Weekly Bunshun for 20 years. In 1999, she won the Nihonkai Literary Award Encouragement Award for her novel ``Aoto'' and began working as a freelancer in 2006.
In his later years, Zenzo Matsuyama and his wife Hideko Takamine became close friends through an interview with Shukan Bunshun in their later years, and they were invited to their home almost every day to have dinner together. Takamine was a great comfort to Saito, who lost his mother in 1996, and Takamine began calling himself ``Kaa-chan'' to her, and it became natural for him to do so.
