小説家。山梨県笛吹市出身。幼少期から読書好きで、ホラー小説に出会い、その後綾辻行人の大ファンとなる。ペンネームの「辻」は綾辻から取られている。1998年に山梨学院大学附属高等学校特進コースに進学し、2002年に千葉大学教育学部を卒業。その後、甲府にある県庁村会事務所で団体職員として働きながら執筆を続け、2004年に第31回メフィスト賞を受賞しデビュー。2008年に退職し、専業作家となる。そして2012年、『鍵のない夢を見る』で第147回直木三十五賞を受賞。

Novelist. Born in Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture. He has loved reading since childhood, and after discovering horror novels, he became a big fan of Yukito Ayatsuji. The pen name ``Tsuji'' is taken from Ayatsuji. In 1998, he entered the Yamanashi Gakuin University High School special course and graduated from Chiba University's Faculty of Education in 2002. After that, he continued to write while working as an organization employee at the prefectural village association office in Kofu, and made his debut in 2004 when he won the 31st Mephisto Award.
