山西雅子は、俳人として活躍する女性。生まれたのは1960年3月29日である。そして奈良女子大学大学院文学研究科国文学専攻修士課程を修了した。10代で詩作を始め、その後歌作に移り「心の花」に入会し、1989年に歌集『花を持って会いにいった』を刊行。その後は岡井省二に師事し、「晨」を経て1991年には槐賞を受賞。同世代の同門には小山森生や加藤かな文などがいる。
俳句で活躍する中で2008年に大木あまりや石田郷子らとともに「星の木」を創刊し、2010年には自らの主宰誌として『舞』を始めた。
著書には歌集『花を持って会いにいった』や句集『夏越』などがある。俳句で楽しく文語文法もあり、2023年に句集『雨滴』が刊行された。
