**「大阪の心を伝えた」**
田辺聖子（たなべ せいこ）は、日本の小説家、随筆家。文化功労者、文化勲章受章者で、従三位に叙された。また、第50回芥川賞や直木賞選考委員を歴任し、「感傷旅行」で若手女流作家の寵児となった。
小説家としての活動は1950年代から始まり、「虹」で大阪市民文芸賞を受賞してからは本格的な作家活動に入った。恋愛小説や方言文学を得意としたが、純文学の賞である芥川賞の受賞者としての立場を枷に感じた。後に大衆小説へと軸足を移し、歴史小説にも活躍の場を広げ、「ひねくれ一茶」で吉川英治文学賞を受賞した。
