Born on February 14, 1983 in Hikari City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. He likes to make people laugh, and has been drawing gag manga featuring celebrities as characters since he was young. I have been reading Chie Shinohara's works since I was a child, and Shinohara is my favorite author of ``Shoujo Comic'' (Shogakukan). She cited Shinohara's ``Purple Eye of Darkness'' as a ``memorable work'' in ``Shoujo Comic''.
Until debut
Entered a vocational school. His family was tolerant of reading manga, but he was not in the mood for drawing, so Kumagai lacked courage and had no experience drawing manga until he entered a vocational school. He was vaguely thinking of submitting his work to a boys' magazine, but when a teacher at his vocational school asked him, ``I don't think a boy's magazine would be a good idea,'' he changed direction and started submitting his work to a girls' manga magazine.
Q: What did you do?
He became famous for changing his outlook on life.
Q: What are your famous works?
``Ayakashi Hiougi.'' The story depicts the love between a girl who is a spiritual medium and a boy who is her classmate. With this work, he took on the challenge of creating a fantasy manga and succeeded.
