Graduated from Tokyo Metropolitan Chitose High School and Waseda University Faculty of Law. While he was a reporter at the TBS news bureau, he won the 26th Edogawa Ranpo Award for ``Sarumaru Genjou''. After retiring from TBS in 1985, he devoted himself to writing.
He is a member of the Japan Mystery Writers Association and the Japan Science Fiction Writers Club.
