Takashi Okamoto (1965-) is a Japanese historian. Specializes in modern Chinese history and East Asian international relations history. Doctor of Literature (Kyoto University). Professor at Waseda University and Professor Emeritus at Kyoto Prefectural University.
The themes of his works and research are wide-ranging, and he explains the history of modern China, from the origins of the Yangguan Dynasty in the late Qing Dynasty to Li Hongzhang and Yuan Shikai.
