Hitomi Fujimoto is a Japanese writer. His representative works include ``The Seal of Bourbon'' and ``The Prophet Nostradamus.''
Before working as a writer, he worked at the Ministry of Health and Welfare. While working as a local government official, he wrote original manga for boys and girls, and won the Shueisha 4th Cobalt Novel Award in 1984. After that, he shifted his focus to historical novels dealing with Western history and criminal psychology novels, and since 2010 he has also been publishing historical novels set in Japan.
He serves as a goodwill ambassador for the French National Tourism Organization, and is currently an honorary committee member, an honorary member of the Académie de Cassoulet, the first Japanese member of the French Society for the Study of the History of Napoleon, headquartered in Paris, and a Knight of the Order of Burgundy Wine.
