日本の小説家。経済小説の開拓者として知られ、伝記小説や歴史小説も多く著している。
城山は1945年に愛知県立工業専門学校に入学したが、大日本帝国海軍に志願入隊し、特攻隊である伏龍部隊に配属された。終戦を迎えると、東京産業大学の予科に入学し、一橋大学を卒業した。
城山は商業科文部教官助手に就任し、1954年に読書会「くれとす」を始める。この時期に名古屋の「近代批評」の同人にも加わった。1957年には、ペンネームである城山三郎を名乗り、神奈川県茅ヶ崎市に転居した。
城山は経済小説や伝記小説、歴史小説など多くの作品を著している。代表作として『総会屋錦城』や『落日燃ゆ』がある。また、個人情報保護法案の問題で、小泉純一郎首相に書簡を送り、撤回を求めた。
城山は2007年に間質性肺炎のため茅ヶ崎市の病院で死去した。出演としてTBSのサンデーモーニングに出演し、著作集『城山三郎全集』や『城山三郎 伝記文学選』を出版している。

**Saburo Shiroyama, a pioneer of economic novels**
Japanese novelist. Known as a pioneer of economic novels, he has also written many biographical novels and historical novels.
Shiroyama entered Aichi Prefectural Technical College in 1945, but voluntarily enlisted in the Imperial Japanese Navy and was assigned to the Fukuryu Unit, a special attack unit. When the war ended, he entered the preparatory course at Tokyo Sangyo University and graduated from Hitotsubashi University.
Shiroyama became an assistant instructor in the Department of Commerce, and in 1954 started a book club called ``Kuretosu''. During this period, he also became a member of the ``Modern Criticism'' group in Nagoya. In 1957, he took the pen name Saburo Shiroyama and moved to Chigasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
Shiroyama has written many works including economic novels, biographical novels, and historical novels. His representative works include ``Sokai-ya Nishikijo'' and ``Rakuhin Moyu.'' In addition, regarding the issue of the Personal Information Protection Bill, a letter was sent to Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi asking for its withdrawal.
Shiroyama died of interstitial pneumonia in 2007 at a hospital in Chigasaki City. He has appeared on TBS's Sunday Morning, and has published the collections ``Saburo Shiroyama Complete Works'' and ``Saburo Shiroyama Biography and Literature Selection.''
