酒井駒子は、兵庫県生まれの日本の絵本作家。東京芸術大学美術学部油絵科卒業後、和物テキスタイルのデザイナーとして働いたが、退職後に絵本作家を目指すようになる。その後はフリーランスの絵本編集者と共同主宰していた「あとさき塾」に通い、デビュー作の担当編集も行った。1998年に『リコちゃんのおうち』でデビューし、2004年には『きつねのかみさま』で日本絵本賞を受賞した。2009年には『くまとやまねこ』で講談社出版文化賞 絵本賞を受賞し、累計発行部数は29万部を超える。
作品は海外でも評価が高く、ブラティスラヴァ世界絵本原画展で金牌を受賞したほか、ニューヨーク・タイムズの「2009年の子供の絵本最良の10冊」にも選ばれている。福音館書店の雑誌『母の友』の表紙を担当し、書籍の装画なども手がけている。

Komako Sakai is a Japanese picture book author born in Hyogo Prefecture. After graduating from the Department of Oil Painting, Faculty of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts, he worked as a Japanese textile designer, but after retiring, he aspired to become a picture book writer. After that, he attended the ``Atosaki Juku,'' which he co-hosted with a freelance picture book editor, and was also the editor in charge of his debut work. She made her debut in 1998 with ``Rico-chan's Home,'' and won the Japan Picture Book Award in 2004 for ``The Fox's God.'' In 2009, he won the Kodansha Publishing Culture Award Picture Book Award for ``Kuma and Yamaneko,'' and the cumulative circulation has exceeded 290,000 copies.
