Shinichi Yamamuro is a Japanese historian and political scientist. Specializes in modern Japanese political history and the history of the chain of modern legal and political thought.
After graduating from the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Law, the University of Tokyo, he worked as a counselor in the Legislative Affairs Bureau of the House of Representatives and as an assistant at the Institute of Social Sciences, the University of Tokyo, before being promoted to professor at the Institute of Humanities, Kyoto University. He retired in 2017 and became professor emeritus.
