Isamu Miyazaki (1923-2016) was a Japanese economic bureaucrat, politician, and economist. During his career as an economic planning bureaucrat, he served as Director-General of the Economic Stability Headquarters and Director-General of the Economic Planning Agency.
Miyazaki graduated from the former Saga High School and then the Faculty of Economics at Tokyo Imperial University in 1947. In the same year, he joined the Economic Stability Headquarters, serving as director of research and other positions, and in 1979 became vice-minister of economic planning. During that time, he wrote the Economic White Paper between 1967 and 1969.
After retiring, he became the representative director and chairman of the Daiwa Securities Economic Research Institute in 1982, and worked as a private economist. He passed away on January 3, 2016 at the age of 92 due to heart failure. After his death, he was posthumously promoted to Seishi Fourth Rank, and was promoted from Sei Eighth Rank.
