Akinobu Kuroda is a Japanese historian. Born in 1958. Born in Sapporo, Hokkaido, he graduated from Kyoto University's Faculty of Letters in 1980. In 1985, he withdrew from the doctoral course and taught at various universities. In 1997, he became an assistant professor at the Institute of Oriental Culture at the University of Tokyo, and later became a professor at the same institute.
Among his books, ``The Structure of the Chinese Empire and the World Economy'' won the Suntory Academic Prize. We also published ``World History of Monetary Systems,'' which was released in an expanded and new edition in 2014, and republished in 2020 as Iwanami Gendai Bunko.
