    佐々木正美は1935年に生まれて、1944年に東京都世田谷区に疎開し少年時代を過ごした。新潟大学医学部を卒業後、ブリティッシュコロンビア大学留学したあと、秩父学園、小児療育相談センターなど様々な大学や機関を経て、川崎医療福祉大学特任教授、横浜市リハビリテーション事業団参与になった。
    著書としては『児童精神科医のノート』シリーズと『子どもへのまなざし』が有名で、自閉症や障害を伴わない子どもの心の発達について理解を深めることができる本になっている。
