渡辺 茂男（わたなべ しげお）は、日本の児童文学者、翻訳家。元慶應義塾大学文学部図書館学科教授。昭和時代から平成時代にかけて多数の児童文学作品を創作し、英米の絵本や童話を中心とした海外の児童文学を多く翻訳した。

Shigeo Watanabe is a Japanese children's author and translator. Former professor at the Department of Library Science, Faculty of Letters, Keio University. He created many works of children's literature from the Showa period to the Heisei period, and translated many foreign children's literature, mainly British and American picture books and fairy tales.
His representative works include the ``Elmer's Adventure'' series, and he is also known for the ``Kuma-kun's Picture Book'' series and ``Kuma-kun's Book'' series. Additionally, he has worked as a translator for Japanese versions of Dr. Seuss's works. He has written many works, many of which have been made into paperbacks.
