Born in 1970, he became an independent freelance photographer in 1997. Since then, he has conducted underwater research both domestically and internationally, including the publication of "Nature Guide: Marine Crustaceans" by Bunichi Sogo Publishing. He also contributes articles and photographs to diving magazines.
Subsequently, in 2015, he published "The Complete Guide to Japanese Jellyfish" through Heibonsha and then registered the trademark for Black Water Dive®. This event is held both domestically and internationally. In 2016, he received numerous awards, including the Grand Prix at the 5th Nikkei National Geographic Photography Awards. In 2017, he launched his first solo exhibition in New York City, and has since held solo exhibitions for his photo book "Jewels in the Night Sea: Mysterious Plankton" at Canon Gallery Ginza, Nagoya, and Osaka.
Since then, he has been involved in numerous activities, including appearing on TBS's popular program "Crazy Journey," collaborating with graniph in 2022, and exhibiting his works at a juvenile fish aquarium. Furthermore, he was appointed as a Shimizu Town Furusato Ambassador. In 2024, SPEEDO released the PLANKTON COLLECTION of competitive swimwear.

I was born in 1970.
