* 1992年から日本学術振興会特別研究員、1994年から放送大学非常勤講師、1995年から国立歴史民俗博物館非常勤研究員、1998年から東京大学史料編纂所研究員。
* 2018年から國學院大學文学部史学科教授。

* Completed master's program at Gakushuin University Graduate School of Humanities in 1989, completed doctoral program there in 1996, and earned a doctorate (history) on "Japanese Medieval Houses and Relatives."
* Since 1992, he has been a research fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, a part-time lecturer at the Open University of Japan since 1994, a part-time researcher at the National Museum of Japanese History since 1995, and a researcher at the Historiographical Institute of the University of Tokyo since 1998.
* Since 2018, he has been a professor at the Department of History, Faculty of Letters, Kokugakuin University.
