Naoki Shigeno is a Japanese manga artist. Born in Chiba Prefecture, his representative works include ``Himajin'' and ``Nobunaga no Shinobi''. He is friends with Toshifumi Kosaka, and together they formed the doujinshi circle ``Japonica Jiyucho'' and co-authored a collection of his works.
Naoki Shigeno debuted as a manga artist after graduating from university in 1999, and currently writes serialized works in Takeshobo's 4-koma magazine, Hakusensha's Young Animal, and Manga Park. A characteristic of his style is that almost all of his serials have a large panel (cover picture) on the first page, in which the title of the manga and the number of serializations are written. Also, the title of the 4-panel comic is often a joke about the punchline of the 4-panel, something you don't often see in other 4-panel manga.
