松岡達英は日本の自然絵本作家。北海道から沖縄までの各地や中南米、アラスカ、オセアニア、東南アジアなどで自然観察を行い、その作品で厚生省児童福祉文化賞、絵本にっぽん賞、日本科学読物賞をはじめとする多数の賞を受賞している。新潟県長岡市生まれの松岡達英は1964年に東京デザイナー学院に入学し、広告制作会社で働く傍らポスター展を開催し、北隆館でアルバイトを始める。その後フリーのイラストレーターになり、知識絵本シリーズの出版を皮切りに自然関連の多数の作品を発表している。

Tatsuhide Matsuoka is a Japanese nature picture book author. He has observed nature in various places from Hokkaido to Okinawa, as well as Central and South America, Alaska, Oceania, and Southeast Asia, and has won numerous awards for his work, including the Ministry of Health and Welfare's Child Welfare Culture Award, Picture Book Nippon Award, and Japan Science Reading Award. Born in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, Tatsuhide Matsuoka entered Tokyo Designer Gakuin in 1964, held poster exhibitions while working at an advertising production company, and began part-time work at Hokuryukan.
