プロボクサーとしては3戦3勝（1KO）だったが、その後10年間試合に呼ばれずにいた。1998年にトレーナーに転身し、2001年にはキューバへトレーナー留学をした。この経験を活かし著書「まったく新しいボクシングの教科書」でフィジカル（体力）を重視するトレーニング法を紹介している。
プロデビュー後に引退した後、内藤大助と共にトレーナー生活を送り、2017年には比嘉大吾をWBC世界フライ級王座に導いた。しかしその翌年4月、比嘉が体重超過で世界王座を剥奪された責任を取ってジムを辞めた。
著書は『まったく新しいボクシングの教科書 誰でも、パンチ力が2倍・3倍になる!』（ベースボール・マガジン社、2010年7月）のみ。

As a professional boxer, he had 3 wins (1 KO) from 3 fights, but was not called to a fight for 10 years after that. In 1998, he became a trainer, and in 2001 he studied abroad as a trainer in Cuba. Utilizing this experience, he introduced a training method that emphasizes physical strength in his book ``A Completely New Boxing Textbook''.
