Shizuko Wakayama is a Japanese illustrator and picture book author. Born in Kyoto City, Kyoto Prefecture, currently lives in Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. Born in 1940. He spent his childhood in Hakodate City, and after the war entered elementary school in Kunitachi City.
In 1966, when she was working as a freelance designer and illustrator, she was offered a picture by Akane Shobo, where she was discovered by Teruo Teramura, and was assigned to do the illustrations for ``Dwarf Pico.''
