森鴎外（もりおうがい）は日本の明治・大正期の小説家、評論家、翻訳家、教育者、陸軍軍医であり、官僚でもあります。医学博士と文学博士で、位階勲等は従二位・勲一等・功三級です。
東京大学医学部を卒業した後、ドイツで軍医として4年過ごし、その後帰国して訳詩編「於母影」や小説「舞姫」を発表しました。一方で文芸雑誌『しがらみ草紙』を創刊し、同人たちと文筆活動に参加していました。

Mori Ogai was a Japanese novelist, critic, translator, educator, military doctor, and bureaucrat during the Meiji and Taisho eras. He holds a doctorate of medicine and a doctorate of literature, and his ranks include junior second rank, first class rank, and third class rank.
After graduating from the University of Tokyo's School of Medicine, he spent four years as a military doctor in Germany, after which he returned to Japan and published the translated psalm ``Obokage'' and the novel ``Maihime.''
