陸上競技選手、指導者の大八木弘明は、会津若松市で生まれ、福島県立会津工業高校に在籍した。小森印刷（現：小森コーポレーション）に就職し、早朝や昼休みを利用して練習に励んだ。1984年から1987年の間に箱根駅伝で好成績をおさめ、ヤクルトに入社し、陸上競技部のコーチ兼選手として活躍した。その後は母校の駒澤大学の指導者となり、学生三大駅伝で27勝を記録。2008年には「多摩川会」を発足させ、男子長距離界の強化を目指す。

**Introduction**
Hiroaki Oyagi, a track and field athlete and coach, was born in Aizuwakamatsu City and attended Fukushima Prefectural Aizu Technical High School. He got a job at Komori Printing (currently Komori Corporation) and practiced early in the morning and during his lunch breaks. After achieving good results in the Hakone Ekiden between 1984 and 1987, he joined Yakult and was active as a coach and athlete in the track and field club. After that, he became a coach at his alma mater, Komazawa University, and recorded 27 wins in the three major student relay races. In 2008, he established the Tamagawa-kai, with the aim of strengthening the men's long-distance race.
