Born in 1949, after graduating from the Faculty of Science and Engineering at Saitama University, he became a monk and began his training. He also studied under Itsugai Kajiura, and in 1994 became the chief priest, master, and president of Shogenji Temple. His works include ``Mumon Seki Sho'' and ``Learning from the Wisdom of Zen.'' He has also appeared on NHK Education's ``Kokoro no Jidai,'' which was also broadcast live in July 2023.
