小説作家。北海道小樽市出身。本名は朝倉香純。北海道札幌手稲高等学校、北海道武蔵女子短期大学教養学科卒業後、さまざまな職を経験してから30歳で小説を書き始め、小説「コマドリさんのこと」で第37回北海道新聞文学賞受賞。2019年に『平場の月』で第32回山本周五郎賞を受賞した。
彼女はまた、短編集やエッセイも多数出版している。代表的な作品に「肝、焼ける」「田村はまだか」などがある。朝日新聞出版のエッセイ『ぜんぜんたいへんじゃないです。』もある。

Novel writer. Born in Otaru, Hokkaido. Her real name is Kasumi Asakura. After graduating from Sapporo Teine High School in Hokkaido and the Department of Liberal Arts at Hokkaido Musashi Women's Junior College, she worked in various jobs before starting to write novels at the age of 30, winning the 37th Hokkaido Shimbun Literary Award for her novel ``Mr. Robin''. In 2019, he won the 32nd Shugoro Yamamoto Award for ``Hiraba no Tsuki''.
She has also published numerous short story collections and essays. Representative works include ``Liver Burns'' and ``Tamura Hamadaka.'' Asahi Shimbun Publishing's essay ``It's not a big deal at all.'' ” is also available.
