いもとようこさんは、1944年に兵庫県三木市で生まれました。1967年には金沢美術工芸大学油絵科を卒業しました。その後、小学校教師になりながら絵本に興じて「風の子絵画教室」を開き、東京で貼り絵の個展を開くまでになります。
彼女は和紙を切って貼り絵を作る技法を使い、やわらかで温かい表情の人物や動物などを描くことにより、多くの人に喜ばれました。日本の昔話や世界の名作などの絵本の挿絵も手がけています。

A Japanese picture book author and illustrator. He has created over 400 picture books and received numerous awards.
Yoko Imoto was born in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture in 1944. In 1967, he graduated from Kanazawa College of Art, Department of Oil Painting. Later, while working as an elementary school teacher, she became interested in picture books, opened the ``Child of the Wind Painting Class'', and even held a solo exhibition of pasted pictures in Tokyo.
She drew people and animals with soft and warm expressions using the technique of cutting Japanese paper and making pasted pictures, which delighted many people. I also work on illustrations for picture books such as Japanese folk tales and world masterpieces.
