時代小説作家・宇江佐真理は、北海道の函館市で生まれる。OL生活と主婦生活を経て、1995年に『幻の声』でオール読物新人賞を受賞しデビューする。その後、『髪結い伊三次捕物余話』（中村橋之助主演）、『雷桜』（岡田将生・蒼井優ダブル主演）などのテレビドラマ・映画化も果たす。2014年に乳癌の闘病記を発表し、翌年没するまで活動を続けた。

After working as an office lady and as a housewife, she made her debut in 1995 when she won the New Reader Award for ``Phantom Voice.'' After that, it was made into TV dramas and movies such as ``Kamiyui Isanji Torimono Yowa'' (starring Hashinosuke Nakamura) and ``Raizakura'' (starring Masaki Okada and Yu Aoi). In 2014, she published her story about her battle with breast cancer and continued to be active until her death the following year.
