Danshi Tachikawa is known as a Japanese rakugo performer and politician. He is well-versed in classical rakugo, and has been challenging rakugo from both a theoretical and sensory perspective for many years, while being conscious of the gap between modern and classical. He was also good at storytelling and comedy, and was known for his wide range of performing arts. He was recognized as one of the ``four kings of young Edo rakugo'' and presided over the Tachikawa school himself.
