    1982年、「蛮勇」で第11回小学館新人コミック大賞少年部門佳作を受賞し、それがデビュー作となった。その後、バレーボールを題材にした『健太やります!』の連載を経て、1994年に野球漫画『MAJOR』を開始する。16年間にわたる長編漫画となり、2004年にアニメ化されると人気を博し、2010年に終了した全78巻は、後に『名探偵コナン』に抜かれるまで少年サンデーコミックス史上最多巻数記録であった。

    Takuya Mitsuda was born in 1965 in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. Lives in Saitama Prefecture. Gemini, blood type O. His representative work is "MAJOR". This work won the 41st (1995) Shogakukan Manga Award.
    In 1982, he won an honorable mention in the boys category at the 11th Shogakukan Newcomer Comic Awards for ``Banyu'', which became his debut work. After that, he serialized the volleyball-themed series ``Kenta Yarimasu!'' and in 1994 started the baseball manga ``MAJOR.'' It was a full-length manga that spanned 16 years, and gained popularity when it was made into an anime in 2004, with a total of 78 volumes ending in 2010, which was the record for the most volumes in the history of Shonen Sunday Comics until it was surpassed by Detective Conan.
