尾田栄一郎は、日本の漫画家。1975年1月1日生まれ、熊本県熊本市出身。九州東海大学中退。
1997年に、『週刊少年ジャンプ』（集英社）で『ONE PIECE』を連載開始。同作の2026年3月時点の累計発行部数は、世界累計6億部を突破している。また、67巻は日本国内出版史上最高記録となる初版405万部を発行している。
幼い頃から絵を描き始めていた尾田が漫画家になる決心をしたのは、藤子不二雄Ⓐの『怪物くん』を見たときだと言う。中学2年生の頃からは本格的に漫画を描き始めた。
その後、海賊が好きなようになった原点は『小さなバイキングビッケ』であり、中学時代には「ジャンプに海賊の漫画を描こう」と目標を定め、アイディアを貯め始める。高校一年生の時にサッカー部を辞め、漫画一本に集中することに決めた。
1992年に月火水金土（つきひみずきこんどう）のペンネームで投稿した短編「WANTED!」が『週刊少年ジャンプ』の新人賞の手塚賞に準入選し、1993年には「一鬼夜行」が10月期第104回ホップ☆ステップ賞にて入選を受賞。
その後、アシスタントを務めながら描いた読切の海賊漫画「ROMANCE DAWN」が、後の『ONE PIECE』の原型となる。1997年に『週刊少年ジャンプ』で海賊達の冒険を描く『ONE PIECE』の連載を開始し、初連載ながらも1999年にはアニメ化され、国民の人気作品となった。
また、アニメや映画にも出演しており、2002年にはアニメ『ONE PIECE』の劇場版第3作『ONE PIECE 珍獣島のチョッパー王国』に愛称の「オダッチ」役で声優として出演。同年、『週刊少年ジャンプ』2007年4・5合併号に、『ONE PIECE』と鳥山明の『ドラゴンボール』のコラボ作品「CROSS EPOCH」が掲載された。

Eiichiro Oda is a Japanese manga artist. Born January 1, 1975 in Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture. Dropped out of Kyushu Tokai University.
In 1997, ``ONE PIECE'' began serialization in ``Weekly Shonen Jump'' (Shueisha). As of March 2026, the cumulative circulation of this work has exceeded 600 million copies worldwide. Volume 67 also had a first edition of 4.05 million copies, the highest ever published in Japan.
Oda, who started drawing when he was young, decided to become a manga artist when he saw Fujiko FujioⒶ's ``Kaibutsu-kun.'' I started drawing manga in earnest when I was in the second year of junior high school.
After that, his love for pirates started with ``Little Viking Bikke,'' and during his junior high school days, he set a goal of ``drawing a pirate manga for Jump,'' and began accumulating ideas.
