Momoko Sakura is a Japanese manga artist, illustrator, author, essayist, lyricist, composer, and screenwriter. Originally from the former Irie-cho area in the center of Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture (currently Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City). The name ``Momoko Sakura'' is also the real name of ``Momo-chan,'' the main character of ``Chibi Maruko-chan.''
Her representative work, the girls' manga ``Chibi Maruko-chan,'' has been a huge hit, selling over 30 million copies in total, and she is also popular as an essayist for her unique perspective and storytelling, and her trilogy of ``Momonokandzume,'' ``Saru no Koshikake,'' and ``Tai no Okashira'' have all recorded million-sellers.
