Issei Komuro (born 1957) is a Japanese physician and medical scientist. Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo. He served as the personal physician to the Emperor (currently the Retired Emperor), and is recognized by himself and others as the Prince of the University of Tokyo's School of Medicine.
Komuro graduated from the Department of Medicine at the University of Tokyo School of Medicine in 1982, and then did postdoctoral research at Harvard Medical School.
