**"Human Affairs, Horse Racing: Suddenly Leaping into the Manga World"**

Female manga artist Hiroshi Arakawa was born in Hokkaido into a family engaged in dairy and field farming. After graduating from high school, she worked in the family business for seven years and also obtained a driver's license for large special vehicles. She studied karate, earned a black belt, and still maintains her musculature. She has also been a fan of "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" since before her debut, listing Gan Ning as her favorite military commander. After her manga artist debut, her pen name often led people to assume she was male, but she is female. Her self-portrait is a cow, and she said, "It was a culture shock to be thought of as male because Holsteins are dairy cows, which are almost exclusively female cows." She uses this self-portrait in all her works, not just in "Hyakusho Kizoku" (Peasant Noble) where she is the protagonist.
