宮本輝は日本の小説家。兵庫県神戸市生まれ。広告代理店で働いた後、戦後の大阪の貧しい庶民の生活を描いた『泥の河』でデビュー。その後、『螢川』（1978年）で芥川賞を受けた。1986年に『優駿』で吉川英治文学賞を受った。長年の努力により幅広い読者層が得た。

**Novels move people**
Teru Miyamoto is a Japanese novelist. Born in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture. After working at an advertising agency, he made his debut with ``Mud River'', which depicts the lives of poor common people in post-war Osaka. After that, he won the Akutagawa Prize for ``Horagawa'' (1978). In 1986, he received the Yoshikawa Eiji Literary Award for ``Yushun.'' Through many years of effort, we have gained a wide readership.
