藤森照信は、日本の建築史家、建築家（工学博士）。東京大学名誉教授、東北芸術工科大学客員教授。東京都江戸東京博物館館長。専門は、日本近現代建築史、自然建築デザイン。
研究者としては、1974年に「看板建築」と命名した有名な作品をはじめ、全国の研究者と協働で各地に残る近代洋風建築の調査を行った。また、工学博士号を取得し、「明治期における都市計画の歴史的研究」を発表した。
建築家としても、神長官守矢史料館（1991年）や自邸「タンポポハウス」（1997年）の設計をはじめ、自然素材を大胆に使う作品を多数発表している。

Professor emeritus at the University of Tokyo, visiting professor at Tohoku University of Art and Design. Director of Edo-Tokyo Museum, Tokyo. Specializes in the history of modern Japanese architecture and natural architectural design.
As a researcher, he collaborated with researchers across the country to investigate modern Western-style architecture that remains in various locations, including the famous work he named ``Signboard Architecture'' in 1974. He also obtained a doctorate in engineering and published ``Historical Research on Urban Planning in the Meiji Period.''
As an architect, he has published many works that boldly use natural materials, including the designs for the Jinchou Moriya Historical Museum (1991) and his own residence, Tanpopo House (1997).
