English Summary
**"Hideto Ueda, a historical novelist who opens the door to history"**
Hideto Ueda was one of Japan's leading historical novelists until his death in 2025. He is also known as a part-time writer whose main occupation is dentistry, and won the 16th Nakayama Yoshihide Literary Award in 2010 for ``Lonely Fight: Muneshige Tachibana''. After that, many of his works, including the ``Okuuhihicho'' series and the ``Hyakumangoku no Rusuiyaku'' series, gained acclaim. He was very successful, winning the series award of the Historical Period Writers Club Award and the Eiji Yoshikawa Bunko Award.
Q: What did you do?
"Leave your name behind as Japan's leading historical novelist."
Q: What are your famous works?
The ``Okuuhihicho'' series and ``Hyakumangoku no Ruiyaku'' series are famous works by Hideto Ueda. The ``Okuuhihicho'' series is a story depicting an incident that occurred in historical times, and its magnificent worldview and character settings have gained acclaim. On the other hand, the ``Hyakumangoku no Rusui Yaku'' series is a story set in the samurai era in which a protagonist with a strong sense of humanity plays an active role. I think the connections and depictions of samurai who actually existed in history in this series are also appealing.
