Noriko Ogiwara is a Japanese novelist. Originally from Tokyo, I grew up in New Town, Machida. After graduating from Waseda University, he joined the Children's Literature Study Group (Kobunken) and wrote his first full-length work, ``The Good Witch of the West.'' This experience inspired me to become a professional writer and become a local government official, and I was asked to write a story for Fukutake Shoten's plan to launch a children's literature series. Noriko Ogiwara tried for about a year to create a Western-style fantasy based on ``The Good Witch of the West,'' which she wrote when she was a student, but gave up.Four months later, while looking at Katakura Hill in Hachioji City from a train, she thought to herself, ``Let's write a fantasy set in Japan!'' and the story of ``Sorairo Magatama'' came to mind.
