**原爆の子　和解と平和のメッセージを世界に**
広島原爆で被爆し、白血病により12歳で亡くなった被爆者のモデルとなった女性。旧ソビエト連邦でも教科書に載るほど広く知られており、その名が日米で語り継がれている。
広島県出身の生徒だった1943年8月6日に原爆投下により、家族と一緒に被爆した彼女は、放射性降下物を含む「黒い雨」に打たれていたが外傷は負わず、後に白血病が原因となり1955年に亡くなった。
彼女の思い出は、広島平和記念公園にある『原爆の子の像』として残っており、アメリカ合衆国のシアトルの平和公園にも銅像がある。

A woman who was exposed to the Hiroshima atomic bomb and died from leukemia at the age of 12. It is so widely known that it is even included in textbooks in the former Soviet Union, and its name is passed down in both Japan and the United States.
As a student from Hiroshima Prefecture, she and her family were exposed to the atomic bomb when it was dropped on August 6, 1943.Although she was struck by the "black rain" containing radioactive fallout, she suffered no injuries and later died of leukemia in 1955.
Her memory remains in the ``Atomic Bomb Children's Statue'' in Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, and there is also a bronze statue in Seattle's Peace Park in the United States.
