Akira Nakano was a politician. After graduating from Osaka City Ogimachi Commercial School, he worked for Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mizushima Aircraft Corporation and Kurashiki Rayon, while also engaging in local political activities such as running for Kurashiki city council. He served two terms as a member of the House of Representatives for the Komeito Party, representing the entire Kochi Prefecture, and also two terms as a member of the House of Councilors. Subsequently, he served successively as a member of the Central Control Committee and the Accounting Audit Committee. He passed away on March 8, 1996, and the following day was posthumously awarded the Order of the Rising Sun, Second Class, Gold and Silver Star.
