**"A master of fictional war stories who creates famous historical commanders who led fleets."**
Nobuyoshi Yokoyama is a Japanese novelist. He was born in Nagano Prefecture and graduated from Tokyo Institute of Technology. Afterwards, while working at Honda R&D Co., Ltd., he debuted as a novelist and has published numerous fictional war stories. His works often feature weapons such as ships and aircraft, and naval officers, who were not prominent in historical accounts. While his early works contained descriptions severely criticizing left-wing groups and socialism, his recent books have fewer political depictions.
**Representative Works**

* Shura no Hato: 8 main volumes + 2 side stories
* Sentinels of the Azure Sea: 10 main volumes + 1 side story
**Q&A**
Q: What did he do?
He has preferences for military figures. While Jisaburo Ozawa, Tamon Yamaguchi, Narumi Inoue, and Kakuji Kakuta are highly praised, Takeo Kurita, who made a mysterious U-turn during the Battle of Leyte Gulf, appears in few works or is depicted as a timid person.
Q: What are his famous works?
The Story of the Eight-Eight Fleet and Shura no Hato are famous. In particular, many of his works prominently feature battleships, and Taira Yoshioka described himself and Nobuyoshi Yokoyama as the foremost proponents of "big-gun battleships" among fictional war story writers.
