長谷川町子は日本初の女性プロ漫画家。代表作に『サザエさん』・『いじわるばあさん』・『エプロンおばさん』など。
漫画家としては、1935年に『少女倶楽部』誌上でデビューし、「天才少女」と題したグラビアも同時に掲載された。1939年には初連載作品となった『ヒィフゥみよチャン』で地位を確立、1940年からは『仲よし手帖』という人気連載を持っていた。
戦後は『サザエさん』で大きな成功を収め、ファッションも話題となり、日本の漫画界に新たな波を起こした。

Machiko Hasegawa is Japan's first female professional manga artist. Representative works include ``Sazae-san'', ``Ijiwaru Baasan'', and ``Apron Aunt''.
As a manga artist, she made her debut in 1935 in ``Shoujo Club'' magazine, and a gravure entitled ``Genius Girl'' was also published at the same time. In 1939, he established himself with his first serialized work, ``Hiifu Miyo-chan,'' and from 1940 he had a popular serial called ``Nakayoshi Techo.''
After the war, he achieved great success with Sazae-san, and his fashion became a hot topic, creating a new wave in the Japanese manga world.
