Ryuichi Masuda is one of Japan's zoologist. He holds a professorship at Hokkaido University. Born in Seki City, Gifu Prefecture (1960). After working as a researcher at the American Cancer Research Institute, he became an assistant professor at Hokkaido University in 2001. He later became a professor in the Department of Natural History Sciences.
