日本の社会学者、理学博士。中国問題専門家。1952年に日本へ引き揚げ、東京都立大学大学院理学研究科博士課程単位取得。在日中国大使館や日本共産党などを通じて中国との交流を行い、「卡子」上梓で読売ヒューマンドキュメンタリー大賞を受賞。1984年から、筑波大学物理工学系・留学生センター教授を務めた。その後は、帝京大学グループ顧問（国際交流担当）や内閣府総合科学技術会議専門委員などを歴任し、現在は中国問題グローバル研究所（GRICI）の所長。

**Introduction**
Japanese sociologist, Doctor of Science. Expert on Chinese issues. Returned to Japan in 1952 and received credits for doctoral course at Tokyo Metropolitan University Graduate School of Science. He has been involved in exchanges with China through the Chinese Embassy in Japan and the Japanese Communist Party, and won the Yomiuri Human Documentary Award for his publication of ``Kazu.'' Since 1984, he has served as a professor at the University of Tsukuba's Department of Physics and Engineering, International Student Center. After that, he served as Teikyo University Group Advisor (in charge of international exchange) and as an expert member of the Council for Science and Technology, Cabinet Office, and is currently the director of the Global Research Institute for Chinese Studies (GRICI).
