日本の数学者、大蔵官僚。確率論における伊藤の補題(伊藤の定理)の考案者として知られる。第1回ガウス賞受賞者。
数学研究に長年従事し、確率微分方程式を確立。また、金融工学理論への貢献も大きかった。ブラック–ショールズ方程式の導出にも基礎となっている。

Japanese mathematician and finance official. He is known as the inventor of Ito's lemma (Ito's theorem) in probability theory. Winner of the 1st Gauss Prize.
